Membership

people

Being a member of Rossendale & Darwen Conservatives means that you have joined the most open and democratic political party in Britain. After the first three months of your membership, you will be entitled to a vote in Party ballots. You will also have a chance to influence Party policy by letting us know your views.

Any person living in the United Kingdom is eligible to join the Conservative Party. Applicants are not required to be registered voters or UK nationals. There is no upper or lower age limit on membership, although children under the age of 15 cannot be enrolled as full voting members. Recommended membership is just £25 per year.

If full membership is not for you, you can still become a Friend of the Conservatives and subscribe as little or as much as you like.

Apply to join or become a friend. You can join online or make a donation straight away; there's a link in the left column of this web page or download and complete the form at the bottom of this page and return it with your payment by cash or cheque (payable to RDCA) to: RDCA, 4 Mount Terrace, Rawtenstall, Lancs, BB4 8SF.

What does becoming a member mean?

Obligations

There are none really, you can do as much or as little as you like as a member. Simply paying your membership fee helps fund our campaigns, however being a full member gives you certain rights. You will have the right to vote on matters concerning local organisation, and you will get a vote on selecting candidates, from council candidates for your local area, to selecting your candidate for parliament.

What next?

If you join you will become a member of your local branch. This could be either; Haslingden, Rossendale, Darwen, North Turton, Bacup & Stacksteads, or Eden. You will be invited to branch meetings where you will learn more about how things work, and if you're interested you'll be able to get more involved from there.

You will receive your membership card, and also be invited to events, campaigning and social events and fundraising. Again, it's entirely up to you about to what extent you get involved.
