Jake Berry MP has welcomed an influential league table ranking Rossendale as the fastest climber in a ranking of economic competitiveness in the UK.
The UK Competitiveness Index 2013 lists the Valley as the biggest climber in the UK since 2010, when the index was last published.
Welcoming the news, Jake said:
“This announcement is really putting Rossendale on the map as a great place to do business.
“It’s a fantastic start to the year and I hope the good news for the Valley is going to keep on coming.”
The UK Competitiveness Index, first introduced in 2000, represents the most up-to-date, thorough and authoritative benchmarking of the competitiveness of the UK’s regions and localities.
The Index is developed independently by the Centre for International Competitiveness based at Cardiff University.
